Detailed instruction

Quiz is an effective way to find out the client’s needs, help with the choice, segment the audience and collect user data. While your readers are learning something new about themselves (for example, what character in TV shows they look like), you can offer them the product or service that they really need.

In this article, we will tell you how to independently create a marketing method without help and design in the free online designer Interacty.

But first, two words about what kind of quiz are.

Two types of quizzes

Trivia — quiz, with which users can test their knowledge (for example, do you understand modern music?). Users answer questions and get results that can be shared on social media.

Personality are quizzes in which there are no right and wrong answers (for example, what character do you look like on TV series?). Such tests are an effective way to find out the needs of the client, help with the selection, segment the audience and collect user data.

Create your own quiz

You can create your own quiz in 30–40 minutes using Interacty, a versatile native designer of interactive content. If you’ve already decided which mechanic you want to use, open the template gallery and a suitable template. We will tell you how to make a quiz based on the Trivia mechanic.

Let’s choose the “English school” template and make a marketing quiz for online courses on healthy eating based on it.

Click “Use this layout”. If you are not registered, the service will offer to create an account (this is free and will take less than a minute). If you already have an account, then you will immediately be taken to the Interacty editor.

So before you is the editor. At the top there are previews of all project pages. Let’s go straight to the design of the question pages, and leave the cover and results for the next.

Create Question Pages

Let’s open the first page with the question and enter our own text. For example, we took a text from a similar test in Snob magazine)

Is it done? Now select all the blocks and move them down so that there is a special place at the top — we will add a picture there. To do this, turn on the “Expert” mode on the right panel (1), click on the picture icon (2) and click on the round image (3). Drag and drop works too.

Now let’s replace the picture. To do this, select the round image and click on the download button (“Change”) on the right panel.

You will see a pop-up window with the option to select or upload images. For quizzes like ours, images from the free Unsplash library are great.

Let’s tweak the colors a bit and we have a stylish question and answer page. For example this:

Be sure to indicate which answer is correct. To do this, select the desired answer and in the menu that appears, click “Set as correct”.

An important component of your Trivia is an explanation of the answer (the so-called feedback). In Interacty quizzes, feedback is shown as a popup after answering a question. Check the box on the left (1) and click on the icon of the feedback page under the slides (2).

Here you can describe where the answer is correct and where is the wrong answer and why. On the left, the answer to which this feedback applies is highlighted. Let’s add our text to all 3 pages of feedback and you can move on!

Check how the question page looks on mobile devices. To do this, switch to the mobile editor mode and, if necessary, move the “sprawling” elements.

Now let’s delete the rest of the template pages — we don’t need them. It is much more convenient to use the page cloning function :) When cloning, not only the design of the page itself is inherited, but also of the feedback pages that we just configured. Like this:

Making the cover

Now it’s time to make the cover. Everything is simple here — unleash your inner designer. If you wish, you can add a logo or information about bonuses for those who passed the test. All elements that are not in the template can be added using the familiar panel in Expert mode.

We got this cover:

Adjusting the results

Our template initially has 2 results (“so-so” and “exellent”). To add more gradations, add more results pages. The results will be distributed automatically. You can view it in the “Review” tab.

We will do the same with the results as with the questions — we will configure one page (not forgetting about the mobile version) and clone it. The first result on the left will be for the smallest result, the last (on the right) for the best.

Settings for social networks

The Interacty editor allows you to customize the display of your project in social networks. To do this, go to the “Checking” tab and in the “Setting the display of publications in social networks” block, click on the “Edit” button.

In the window that opens, you can specify the title and explanatory text you need, as well as upload a picture if the automatically generated image does not suit you. In addition, you can specify a link that will open when you click on a post on the social network. This is important if you want to embed a project on a website or blog (in this case, specify the page where your project will be located).

If you do not plan to embed your project, but want it to be available via a direct link, you can choose a beautiful link for yourself (this option is available for paid plans, starting with Starter).

Connecting a lead form

If you want to limit yourself to free functionality, then everything is ready for publication! But if you want your quiz to help you collect leads, it makes sense to connect a paid lead form. The lead form is available starting from the Starter plan ($ 19 / mo).

To enable a lead form, check the corresponding checkbox in the editor in the settings on the left, and the “Data collection form” (lead form) page will appear on the slide panel immediately before the results.

Customize the form as you need it. In the panel on the right, you can choose which fields you would like to show to your users. You can also provide a link to your privacy policy.

Ready? Publish!

Done

After you clicked “Publish”, you will receive a link to your project, which can be copied and posted on social networks or instant messengers. If you want to embed the project, select the option “Embed on site or blog” and you will receive an embed code.

That’s all! If you have any questions while creating a project, you can click on the Facebook messenger icon in the lower left corner of the editor and get advice from the development team.

You can find project statistics and leads by clicking on the “Statistics” button in the “My projects” section.
